Why do you want to be a Knight?

A fight breaks out on your patrol route. What do you do?

Situations

Choose what you would actually do, not what sounds best. A person reads these alongside the rest of your application.

1 of 8 · In the fieldA man is shouting at a woman near the edge of the field. He is much larger than you, clearly drunk, and she looks frightened. Your buddy is twenty metres away.

Step between them and tell him to back off.

Move closer, signal your buddy, and radio event security with your location.

Start filming so there is evidence of what he does.

Keep your distance from him and quietly ask her if she wants help getting away.

2 of 8 · In the fieldSomeone is slumped against a fence and does not respond to their name. Their friends say they are just sleeping it off.

Leave them with their friends, who know them better than you do.

Pick them up and carry them somewhere quieter yourself.

Check their breathing, call medical, and stay with them until medical arrives.

3 of 8 · In the fieldA person who is clearly overheating tells you they are fine and to leave them alone.

Hold their arm and walk them to the medical tent anyway.

Respect it, stay where you can see them, and let medical know.

Walk away. It is their decision to make.

4 of 8 · In the fieldYou are walking someone to medical when their friend gets in your face, shouting that you are making it worse.

Stop, and argue your case until the friend backs down.

Keep your voice low, say where you are going, and bring your buddy in.

Push past the friend. The person you are helping comes first.

5 of 8 · In the fieldHalfway through a shift, your buddy smells of alcohol and says it was only one drink.

Tell your shift lead, and stop working as their buddy.

Take their drink off them and send them home yourself.

Carry on, and keep a closer eye on them.

6 of 8 · In the fieldA group near you is loud and a little rowdy, but nobody looks hurt, distressed, or in danger.

Go over and ask them to calm down.

Report them so someone else deals with it.

Keep an eye on them from where you are, and carry on.

7 of 8 · OnlineIn a Knights channel, someone posts a stranger’s photo and asks everyone to find out where he lives, saying he hurt their friend.

Find his address and send it to them privately.

Scroll past. It is not your business.

Don’t search, say the channel is not for that, and tell a lead.

8 of 8 · OnlineA post naming a local man as a predator has thousands of shares and no sources.

Don’t share it, and check whether any credible outlet or authority has reported it.

Share it with a note saying it is unconfirmed.

Share it widely. People need to be warned.

The Knight’s Code

Care, not confrontation: observe, assist, report, call 911.
No detentions, pursuits, or citizen’s arrests.
No weapons on any operation: no firearms, blades, batons, stun devices, or chemical sprays.
No impersonating police, military, or EMS.
Never alone.
Sober on shift.
No filming people in distress.

How your application is handled

A person reads every application. We never ask about your health, criminal history, government ID or home address, and you do not need to mention them. We record how long the form took and which of our links brought you here, if any.

We delete applications a year after they are sent, unless you become a Knight or are on the waitlist. Ask us any time and we will send you everything we hold on yours, or delete it. Write to jono@archangel.agency.
